Tire Flipping
This Month’s article concentrates on a great exercise for any serious soccer that wants a full body workout! The exercise is tire flipping, I am not talking about a car tire I am talking about a truck tire weighing 300 hundred pounds! Tire Flipping is very physically demanding and I would not suggest this exercise to any players just starting to strength train. Tire flipping is for an athlete that already has a good foundation in terms of strength and wants to get after it! Tire flipping is a great exercise if you want to work on rapid hip extension and overall strength. You will feel this exercise from head to toe. See the videos below of actually clients performing tire flips. I have the clients perform sets of 3 repetitions or give them a certain amount of time like a 1 minute to see how many flips they can get for a conditioning affect.
Not only the physical strength gained but the mental edge it develops for the athlete as well. Once a player performs this exercise they will never step into a 50-50 ball the same ever again!
